<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I am thankful to Google since I started to become active in social media, switching to easy to manage blogger from my oh so complicated blog site, I never left and managed quite a number of blogs as of this writing. Through the active initiative of the local groups here, I also learned how to use Google map. Though not active for the year 2013, I still made it to the big events the recently organized Google Business Group in Gensan arranged. Like the Women on Web, obviously a gathering of women and empowering them through social media, even inviting the You tube famous "Juana Change".</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OOI0SLwhBxc/UqUq4ICp4eI/AAAAAAAADZc/sd8STK8VP2k/s1600/iphonepics.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OOI0SLwhBxc/UqUq4ICp4eI/AAAAAAAADZc/sd8STK8VP2k/s320/iphonepics.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">We should never miss the biggest Google event in General Santos City so far, with more than 300 attendees - GDayX Mindanao. Held at the event center of SM Gensan, Google people visited Gensan and shared technologies, applications and programs that are a huge help for mankind. One thing I remember during that gathering is - "Moon Shot". Google it. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Every Filipino beach bums had been dreaming of going to the most popular Summer get-away of the Philippines, Boracay. So when I got the chance to finally set foot on this most talked about beach hub, I grabbed it right away.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">If you are the relaxation-in-vacation type of person, here are some things you can do when in Boracay:</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">1. People Watching</span></span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"> Boracay is one of the best places where you can just sit and watch people. They come in different nationalities, different races, different colors and different shapes. Thus, perfect sunglasses do come in handy as you settle in the white beaches of Boracay. </span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qb5EURBuaHo/UcKf9TKQaLI/AAAAAAAABzY/gtXN0EkzIq0/s1600/fcff6c04-e4b4-4d57-8610-f1e0aa89740cwallpaper.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qb5EURBuaHo/UcKf9TKQaLI/AAAAAAAABzY/gtXN0EkzIq0/s400/fcff6c04-e4b4-4d57-8610-f1e0aa89740cwallpaper.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><b>2. Finish the NOVEL</b> you've been eyeing to read.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> If you do not want to try the water sports Boracay has to offer, reading a book in a bench is good idea. Look for a perfect spot where you won't get toasted, wear a nice piece of bikini, bring a bottled water or order some fresh fruit shake and you are good to go.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lNR1ok2TNVg/UcKf4c9NkDI/AAAAAAAABy4/_Xyd1hwtzQI/s1600/e128d444-0c4b-4b82-a353-12f75a062578wallpaper.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lNR1ok2TNVg/UcKf4c9NkDI/AAAAAAAABy4/_Xyd1hwtzQI/s400/e128d444-0c4b-4b82-a353-12f75a062578wallpaper.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">3. Watch the beautiful sunset.</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> Boracay has one great view of the Sunset and a Boracay visitor should never miss it. The setting would be more romantic if you have a love one with you. Go to the seashore around 4 in the afternoon and start waiting for the sun to set. It is also the best time for meditation as you savor the natural beauty of God's amazing creations.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c19tqE0ZywU/UcKf7N8uBRI/AAAAAAAABzA/o_W2HMLFu_k/s1600/f7bbea2f-87ff-460e-be07-04c87fd75edawallpaper.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c19tqE0ZywU/UcKf7N8uBRI/AAAAAAAABzA/o_W2HMLFu_k/s400/f7bbea2f-87ff-460e-be07-04c87fd75edawallpaper.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">4. Walk or Jog</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> With different food stations and restaurants Boracay has, most likely, you will over-eat. To warm you and your sore butt up, take a walk or jog along the shore lines of Station 1 to Station 3 of Boracay. It is also one way of checking the shops, restaurants and more shops Boracay has without spending much.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2ylq50MDyZ8/UcKf7uxFSbI/AAAAAAAABzI/yDht0-ZXMCQ/s1600/ac68c0ea-4f40-48d5-b0e9-0fd34f7f2cf9wallpaper.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2ylq50MDyZ8/UcKf7uxFSbI/AAAAAAAABzI/yDht0-ZXMCQ/s400/ac68c0ea-4f40-48d5-b0e9-0fd34f7f2cf9wallpaper.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">5. Take a lot of Picture</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> Being in Boracay gives you the right to become a camwhore. Make sure to take a photo of you with the popular stores, shops, hotels and restaurants in all stations. Your Boracay experience would not be complete without you taking a picture with the white sand and the ocean as the background.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2ylq50MDyZ8/UcKf7uxFSbI/AAAAAAAABzI/yDht0-ZXMCQ/s1600/ac68c0ea-4f40-48d5-b0e9-0fd34f7f2cf9wallpaper.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">These are the very few of the things you can do in Boracay. If you are more into adventure, they offer a lot of water activity packages, make sure to ask around first before saying yes to a package.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Enjoy Boracay!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">In 2011 of the same month, five rock bands came to the peaceful soils of General Santos City to awaken the sleeping blood of the rock suckers.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">Tanduay brought some of the newest Rock Royalty of this generation for the Generals to enjoy. Everyone knows that the T5 Line-up got their bragging rights for being good performers. Evident to that are their sold-out albums and full packed show venues around the globe.</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/391261_3923390436469_1656895041_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/391261_3923390436469_1656895041_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">What made me happy but sad at the same time is T5's decision in getting Urbandub and axing my other favorite bands. T5 concert is a must see every year not only because of the music these great Pinoy bands brings but the fun they spell FUN when they are on stage. Emanating a good vibe of comradeship and friendship developed while they are on tour. It would surely paste a smile on your face as you leave the venue knowing that you did not only enjoyed the show but your idols obviously had fun.</span><br />

Seedlings are still provided by Dolefil, all they have to do is to plant and make sure to grow at least 80% of the total number of the trees planted for assessment.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />

TYPECAST! TAKEN BY CARS! in DAVAO<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Stormproof is at it again! After the tremendously successfull Attack of the South featuring Urbandub and Powerspoonz last March 26, 2011, they will be ending the Davao's October with a BANG!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">With a show tagged as THREE-LLA FROM MANILA, literally 3 bands from Manila will be rocking Davao on the 29th of October, at THE TENT, Matina Town Square. You still have time to save up for a P350 ticket that comes with 1 beer, 1 slice of pizza and 1 GLOBE sim. Where can you get that? Only on a Stormproof production. Surely a three-lla thrilla!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/307696_298038963555435_199062680119731_1238937_767922806_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/307696_298038963555435_199062680119731_1238937_767922806_n.jpg" width="256" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Featuring CHICOSCI who became famous for their hits like Paris, Vampire Social Club, A Promise among others. Surely shrieking female fans will troop just to get a sight of the frontman Miggy Chaves and the guitarist Mong Alcaraz. The band behind the hit "Will You Ever Learn", TYPECAST is another band to perform. An inspiration to the underground/indie bands/artists, they gained quiet a number of followers in this part of Mindanao. They may not be a mainstream group, TAKEN BY CARS gained respect in the music industry by getting noticed my award giving body like that of NU Awards and MYX. New to some of us of but the group started way back in 1998. </div><div><br />
</div><div>This is my little share in spreading the music in/of the South! Experience 3 times the FUN and AWESOMENESS with THREE-LLA from Manila!</div><div><br />

The supposedly highlight ECO-TOUR at Guimaras Island turned out to be a nightmare for everyone. The weather was not suitable for a Guimaras tour that day (moral lesson: check Weather Update before bringing a group of 600 to an island tour). The coordinators were not well coordinated. The tour itself was not well planned (moral lesson: if you plan of bringing your delegates to an island tour or tourist spot tour, try it yourself first so you would know the time duration, the capacity of the place you will be visiting, the orientation you need to conduct and others). <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">As early as <b>Four o'clock</b> in the afternoon people started to came in groups at the concert grounds, even watching the bands do the sound check.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b><u>5:00pm</u></b> - crowd inside the venue grew in significant numbers. People who came in during this time got a near and clear view of the stage</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b><u>6:00pm</u></b> - A traffic of people seems to be a little bit manageable. People lining up are still relaxed.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b><u>7:00pm</u></b> - Crowd starts to fill the streets causing heavy traffic to the passersby. Good thing that the organizers thought of this kind of problem in advance and hired people to manage the traffic problem just in case. The singled line entrance for male audience turned into five lines while for the girls just two. Thus proving my theory that there are still more men who loves the noise a rock band brings.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b><u>8:00pm</u></b> - The first band to perform was the young and vibrant <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #660000; font-size: large;"><b>CHICOSCI</b></span>. I was still lining-up at the female entrance when they started there first song for the night.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />

</span><br />
<blockquote style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #444444; font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Originally called Chico Science, the group won an inter school Battle of the Bands representing Ateneo de Manila University that led them to a slow rise stardom. As they hurdled there way to the rock scene success, <span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; line-height: 19px;">Miguel "Miggy" Chavez, Miguel "Mong" Alcaraz, Carlos "Calde" Calderon, Jan Kevin Santos and Joel Salvador together with </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; line-height: 19px;">Sonny Baquisal and long-time friend Eugene "Yug" Esquivias - the group reinvented themselves seeking help from the able rock scene professionals like that of Raymond Marasigan thus shreiking girls know them as CHICOSCI! </span></span></blockquote><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">The group was pretty generous with there performance and gained a number of screamers - hands down to Miggy and Mong! It was a good way of starting a rock concert - stretching and flexing everyone's muscle for the next bands to come. </span>It was the first time of the group to perform for the GENERALS and they left a mark of AWESOMENESS which surely adds to their fan based in General Santos City.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><b><u>9:30pm</u></b> - Then comes <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #660000; font-size: large;"><b>SANDWICH</b></span> on stage! Another group of CONYO band that made the crowd a bit crazy! Not a first timer, T5 tour in gensan for the band is there 3rd in General Santos City. I remembered the group's first time in the city when they front-acted for the then popular ALAMID, when only a few of the audience appreciate the genre of the band. But gone are those days when people does not know the lines of Sandwich's popular singles. Today, some of their hits such as SUGOD can instigate a MOSH during live performances. </span></span><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">IML Resort and Nature Park got all the elements of a good place for relaxation. With an easy view of the vast Sarangani Bay, it is like enjoying God's creation at its best. They have an accommodating staff which are mostly from the locality of Barangay Lumasal. Maybe with more trainings and orientation the human resource of the resort will be better. There are few restrictions though, since 1ML got restaurant, bringing of foods is discourage- but if you cannot help it you'll have to pay for the corkage. You also cannot bring floaters and the likes (e.g.salbabida) - the resort has floaters for rent.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />

</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Rating the resort, 10 as the highest I will give them 6 for now. As we always say there is always a room for improvement. Here are some things that I am not very happy about IML - their <i>open cottages area is so small</i> that you can already rub the elbows of the other people occupying the next cottage. Aside from that, the cottages cannot keep you from getting wet if it rains - the management should do something about that. I would also recommend they assign a standby waiter with a walkie talkie at the open cottage area to take orders and requests of their guests and customers, since going to the restaurant from the pool area is tedious considering the uphill/downhill walk you need to take. Those are just my 10-cent worth for now.</span><br />

Still through Sir Avel Manansala's determination, the very first Google Mapping Party in General Santos City for the year 2011 took place at the City Mayor's Office New Conference Room. With the objective of mapping and tagging the places which will be highly necessary in time of disaster or calamity, Twenty Four Map Volunteers spent more than four hours, pointing, lining, shaping, zooming in and out or adding name in their neighborhood and the rest of Socsksargen. To make the mapping more systematic, each volunteer are assigned either a municipality or a Barangay or two to map or tag.</span></span><br />

It still gives me shiver as I think about them. It was ultimately AWESOME! Can't get enough of them since then.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The <b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">GENERALS</span></b> attacked <i>Davao City</i> for the much awaited <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000; font-size: large;"><a href="http://busy-berna.blogspot.com/2011/02/urbandub-vs-powerspoonz-giant-against.html">ATTACK OF THE SOUTH Gig at The Tent-Matina Town Square on March 26, 2011!</a></span></span><br />
<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Everyones excited as they bought their tickets and lined-up for the entrance. My group was among the Early Birds. We are obviously excited. We wanted to get the best seat and luckily, we did!</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>GETTING STARTED</b>. The local bands from the Davao never failed to get the ecstatic audiences entertained for Four Long Straight hours. <b>Azimuth</b> started with Three tracks, followed by the fun and young performance of <b>Ten in a Row. Davao Karate Club</b> was also something to watch out for while <b>Spasm</b> and <b>Polar Depth</b> kept the vibe alive before the highlight of the gig that night.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IHQUrA2n1Ak/TZBThZIxmlI/AAAAAAAABLw/J8A2XHuLmsM/s1600/urbandub2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IHQUrA2n1Ak/TZBThZIxmlI/AAAAAAAABLw/J8A2XHuLmsM/s400/urbandub2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #783f04; font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;">FRONT ACTS</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #783f04; font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; font-size: x-small;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>HEATING UP</b>. Then came the funky <b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #20124d; font-size: large;">POWERSPOONZ</span></b> and the audience went wild. Asked to stand up, the audience instinctively went right in front the stage and started to jump up and down. Instigating a MOSH, boy, it smelled like teen spirit! Its so good to be YOUNG and FREE!</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Honestly, I haven't heard of Powerspoonz not until this gig. Oh yeah, they became an instant favorite. I love their songs <i>serendibity, barrio, overflow</i> and more. And Philippines, you better watch out for them, for they are a discovery. Read more about <a href="http://antigonesplea.blogspot.com/2011/04/these-are-few-of-my-favorite-things.html">POWERSPOONZ here</a>.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />

</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>CLIMAX</b>. Everbody came to their climax when <b>Urbandub's</b> Frontman <i><b>Gabby Alipe</b> </i>joined Powerspoonz for a Sublime Cover. The bouncers can no longer control the crowd when <i><b>Lalay Lim</b> (bass guitar)</i>, <i><b>John Dinopol</b>(lead guitar)</i> and <i><b>JanJan Mendoza</b>(drums)</i> joined Gabby on stage. Everybody went crazy wild as they dance and sing along with this NU ROCK AWARDS favorite band. Their 9-Song Playlist that night never allowed the audience to take a breather or sit. They keep their hearts pumping till the last key of <b>GUILLOTINE</b> - <i>one of the fans favorites from Udub's 4th Album Under Southern Lights.</i></span><br />
