SKIMBOARDIN' @ QUEEN TUNA PARK - GENSAN

Skim Dance
Where in General Santos City, can you spend one summer day or afternoon just lazing and dozing on the sand or swim and soak in the salty waters or learn new water sport with all your might for FREE?

Years after rehabilitating the Lion's Beach Resort, people of General Santos and few of its neighbors started to flock their way to the now known QUEEN TUNA PARK during hot weekends and holidays.Located just at the downtown area, the park is pretty accessible for beach bums everywhere. FACT. It is near the Public Market and a walking distance to a number of restaurants. Plus, rides like tricycles and jeepneys are available on your way out.

QUEEN TUNA PARK is now clean and safe to bum around the place. The Generals who are on tight budget or not, go to the park to meet with friends, bond with love ones or just enjoy the beach. There are those who do more than that!

Introducing a water sport that you might consider learning - SKIMBOARDING!

SKIMBOARDING
- n The sport of riding a skimboard over shallow water on a beach and into oncoming waves close to shore The board is usually tossed ahead and jumped on after a running approach.

SHOW TIME! PLAY TIME!

Since its was introduced in 2000 at Tanauan, Leyte (SkimBoarding Capital of the Philippines), the SKIM fever reached the shores of General Santos City also!At first, young generals usually come together at the Queen Tuna Park to simply enjoy the small waves through skimboarding, until they considered joining friendly competitions and staging Skimboarding Competition as well.

Considering that  General Santos shores does not have huge waves like those of Hawaii, skimboarding is a good substitute for surfing. No need to go to Leyte to experience SkimBoarding. You just need a skim board and you are good to go!

Interested? Let me know and I'll help look for someone to make a Skim Board specially made for you.

Who says Summer Outing need to be expensive? That I differ!

  2. @Anonymous, paghulat. Mahina ang kalaban. We have so much things to do in GenSan. Kung may budget ka, pahiramin mo na lang ang siyudad dahil pinapriority muna nila ang housing, education, peace & order, and health. Hinay hinay lang ang imong demands, oki?

  3. Hello, I am Gabrielle M. Arizala.

QUEEN TUNA PARK. The essence of the name itself will be endangered kapag sinunod po ang gusto ninyo.

KAYA NGA PO QUEEN TUNA PARK ang name to introduce the FISHING INDUSTRY of GENERAL SANTOS CITY feat. TUNA.. Hindi po kelangang imarket ang TUNA with modernized constructions.. KASI PO, ANG dapat imarket at i endorse ng city ay yung TUNA INDUSTRY, not the tourism of the place.

BAKIT HARAP ANG PALENGKE? Simply because we WANT TO EXPOSE THE STURDY FISHING/MEAT INDUSTRY OF THE CITY, being the center of trade in MINDANAO.

    This is the real Logic.

Hope you understand what we mean po.

    MAGANDANG GENSAN, TO YOU!

  5. Queen Tuna Park has the potential despite of its undeveloped facilities and amenities to cater the needs of local and foreign tourists. Mostly, family and teenagers are likely to visit the said destination during weekends. Yes, considering its location along Sarangani Bay, it is in demand in a sense that it’s a place where tourist can engage in various outdoor games and activities for free and convenient for it is situated at the heart of the city.
most the local cities 70% ang nagpapataas ng economic rate sa isang lugar ..i implement to put some tourist attraction here in gensan QTP is locallly known and it is enough to invite some peolple visiting here in gensan
